Data Controller
The data controller for personal data collected through this website is KitchenDeals UK. You can contact us at [email protected].
What We Collect and Why
We collect the following personal data:
- Email address — if you sign up for price alerts or our newsletter. We use this to send you the alerts or newsletters you requested. Legal basis: consent (GDPR Article 6(1)(a)).
- Cookie preference — we store a cookie to remember whether you accepted or rejected analytics cookies. Legal basis: legitimate interest in providing a consistent user experience (GDPR Article 6(1)(f)).
- Analytics data — if you accept analytics cookies, we use privacy-friendly analytics (Google Analytics 4 with IP anonymisation) to understand how people use the site in aggregate. Legal basis: consent (GDPR Article 6(1)(a)).
How We Use Your Email
Your email address is used only to send the communications you opted into: price alerts for products you track, and our weekly deals newsletter. We do not sell your email address to third parties. We do not use it for any purpose other than the communications you requested.
Our email communications are sent via Beehiiv, a newsletter platform. Your email is stored in Beehiiv’s systems in accordance with their privacy policy and GDPR obligations.
Data Retention
- Email subscribers: We retain your email address for as long as you remain subscribed. If you unsubscribe, your email address is deleted from our active subscriber list within 30 days.
- Price alert records: Deleted when you unsubscribe or when the product is removed from our tracker.
- Analytics data: Aggregated analytics data is retained for up to 14 months in Google Analytics (the minimum retention setting).
- Cookie preferences: Stored as a browser cookie for 12 months, then cleared automatically.
Cookies
We use a cookie to remember your cookie preference. If you accept analytics cookies, we place a Google Analytics cookie to collect anonymised usage data. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking pixels.
Affiliate Links
When you click “Buy on Amazon” we record which product was clicked. This is used to understand which deals are popular. We do not track your identity or your browsing after you leave our site.
Your Rights
Under UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate personal data
- Erase your personal data (“right to be forgotten”)
- Restrict or object to processing
- Data portability (receive your data in a machine-readable format)
- Withdraw consent at any time (this does not affect the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal)
To exercise any of these rights, email us at [email protected]. We will respond within 30 days.
Complaints
If you believe we have not handled your data correctly, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint. We would, however, appreciate the opportunity to address your concerns directly first.
